Alter Ego - Jolly Joker Remixes

Jolly Joker' was one of the more nagging contributions to Alter Ego's Why Not? album, fashioning a central hook that sounded a lot like a synthesizer laughing in your face. DJ Koze preserves this mechanised chuckling for his reinterpretation, although the addition of more organic percussion adds a bit of a Latin American, carnival feel to the song. Supermayer don't deviate quite so far from the source, adding a disco gallop to the beat, and keeping the general framework of that insistent riff in place. You'd have to refer back to the supremely wacky original to truly appreciate the proposterousness of the track, but these remixes provide suitably fun alternatives.
